Overlay

This page is divided into three columns:

Provider​

By default, the app does not have any providers. To add one, you can:

  • Click the Add Provider button, you will be prompted to enter the config URL of the provider. You can find the config URL of a provider on its website.
  • Click the button on the overlay website to invoke the app and add it. To add the official Live Assistant overlay provider, go to the Live Assistant website and click the Add as provider button.

If you want to support one-click method on your website, just open this link: app.live-assistant.windows://overlay-provider?configUrl=[URL] (Replace [URL] with the config URL of your website). To learn more about the config URL, please refer to the Overlay Protocol page.

After you added provider, you can pick a provider using the drop down button. You can add more providers by clicking the + button. To refresh the list of overlays provided by the provider, click the Refresh button. To remove a provider, click the Remove button.

Once you selected a provider, you can see a list of overlays provided by the provider. You can click on any overlay to preview it.

Overlay Config​

You can see a list of available settings for the selected overlay. Any changes you made here will result in a page refresh in Preview column.

To test the overlay style on different backgrounds, you can change the background color by clicking the Preview background color button.

Once you are satisfied with the overlay style, you can click the Copy URL button to copy the URL of the overlay. You can then add a new browser source in your brodcasting software and paste the URL in the URL field.

Preview​

This column shows a preview of the overlay. It uses the system native browser to render the overlay.

If you did not see anything in the preview column, please make sure the server is running. For more information, please refer to the Controller Bar page.
